First, a little bit about the origins of the name.

Quick physics primer: when a fluid flows over a solid surface, like air over an airplane wing or water over a ship's hull, a thin layer of fluid directly adjacent to the surface behaves differently.  That is the boundary layer.

I wanted to draw the parallel that we each have our own boundary layer along the surface of our bodies, and what you choose to wear or occupy that space determines how comfortable, stylish or confident you feel.
